The Cosmic Madhouse
Written during the Poona One days Satyananda's book Ganz Entspannt im Hier und Jetzt was a huge bestseller in Germany and brought thousands of German seekers to Osho. Now it is finally available in English, translated by Dhiren.
From a review by Naveen:
"[...] I saw an orange paperback – Satyananda's book, Ganz Entspannt im Hier und Jetzt. I could look at it. I could touch it. When I opened it, time stopped. I read straight through, turned back to the beginning, and began again. I had been tricked into reading Osho and was going to Pune.
When Satyananda began writing this journal of his life with Osho in 1977, he asked himself how in the world he would be able to write intelligently about “the cosmic madhouse” in which he found himself living. He'd arrived in India as a correspondent for the German magazine Stern, on assignment to interview the prime minister and report on the Pune ashram. After 14 days, he took sannyas. He moved in a year later and began what he called the biggest adventure of his life as a disciple in the presence and commune of a living spiritual Master, Osho.
Satyananda writes mostly first-person, present tense, recording observations, reflections, experiences, and conversations. The text is interspersed with Osho passages. He writes with honesty, doubt and skepticism, with insight and befuddlement, despair and irritation, with wonder and humor, trying to understand what he is doing there, who Osho is, and what the work might be."
