Collected Lectures on Bhagavad-Gita As It Is Vol. 2 BG 2.13-3.13
This series contains verbatim transcriptions of all the lectures on the Bhagavad-Gītā given by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda that exist in the Bhaktivedanta Archives tape library.
There is no doubt that scholarship in fields like religion, Indology, and eastern philosophy have been and will continue to be influenced by Śrīla Prabhupāda's translations and purports of the Vedic classics. This applies especially to his translations and purports of Bhagavad-gītā As It Is. With the publication of this series, an additional wealth of transcendental insight and profound wisdom is revealed to the sincere devotee and the serious scholar.
Śrīla Prabhupāda had a very regular schedule. He would sit alone in the hours before dawn and dictate the translations and purports of his books. He would refer to these purports as his "personal ecstacies." Later in the day he would lecture to his disciples and to guests and at preaching engagements. One of his mottos was "Preaching is the essence." In this mood it can be said that these lectures are his "public ecstacies."
The publishing of these books represents years of service by many devotees. In 1978 research was started on the biography of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupāda, and devotees began transcribing the original tape recordings in the Bhaktivedanta Archives.
